Leonard Chua featured in TV3 Bersamamu on 28/09/2011

“It seems hard to believe that barely six years ago, life seemed normal. Six years ago, I was, like many others, preoccupied with the pursuit of material wealth and luxury. After an accident that left me without feeling or sensation below my chest, my pursuits and preoccupations these days have become very much simpler and involve mundane things that I, like many others again, took for granted. Through the six years since I was dealt the biggest ‘U-turn’ in my life yet, I have reflected upon my past selfishness and rebellions against the advices and counsels of my family and friends. Through the six years of contemplation that my condition and daily sufferings have afforded me, I have come to the realisation of that which is most precious to me and those who are, like me, left with very little – my beloved family and close friends. They alone, have been my support through the challenges and low points I faced and continue to face.

My dream for the BRWC rehabilitation and wellness centre is to have an avenue to share the life experiences I have had in coping with my disabilities in the hope that the people who come to us will experience the support and comfort I received in my darkest days and have a renewed appreciation of their lives and their families and friends. It is my wish that no person, whether disabled or able-bodied should suffer unnecessarily and alone. The BRWC rehabilitation and wellness centre is a first step towards fulfilling that wish. And if I can, through my efforts, bring light into the lives of those who are suffering and empower them to do the same, I am convinced that I will have contributed to society and done my part to make this world a little better for all of us.

I hope through this video, I can get the best support from all of you in helping to raise fund to build this rehab Centre.
